Patient Service Representative
Local MD Urgent Care is a rapidly growing, locally owned Urgent Care group. We currently have 4 locations across the Chicagoland area with additional locations opening soon. We are looking for experienced Patient Service Representatives who put patient care at the forefront, are great communicators, value teamwork and are looking to grow their career with the right team.

The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact for all Local MD Urgent Care patients and on-site vendors. This position is responsible for patient registration, entering basic patient information accurately, collection of copays prior to visit, answering phones, receiving staff appointments and organization/cleaning of the front desk, and waiting area of On Dmed Urgent Care facilities, as described in the Policies and Procedures.
This position requires a working knowledge of and adherence to Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
General Job Duties:

Registration of patients and management patient flow.

Maintain Local MD Urgent Care’s Organizational Standard of Quality for:
-
Patient Registration, Intake, Verification of Benefits, and collection of any additional information/charges at the end of the Patient visit.

Collect insurance information and/or other payment types as it pertains to each patient per the written Policies and Procedures of Local MD Urgent Care and our third-party biller.

Ensure patient information (Contact Information, Health Insurance, Photo ID, etc) is accurately entered/recorded in Local MD Urgent Care Urgent Care’s EMR.

Front desk and waiting area should be kept organized and sanitary per Local MD Urgent Care’s Policies and Procedures.

Answer incoming phone lines, document/relay phone messages promptly

Track patient “turn away” in real time.

Receive and notify staff of waiting on-site appointments.

Assist in the inventory process and restock received items.

Other light cleaning duties as required.

Communication:

Provide a warm greeting for all patients

Promote Local MD Urgent Care’s Patient Portal and assist patients in registration when applicable

Ensure effective, professional written/oral communication with Patients, Vendors, and Staff

Appropriately distribute/triage phone calls to Local MD Staff/Providers

Participate in mandatory staff meetings.

Meet with PSR Supervisor and/or Operations Manager for staff meetings, additional training and staff evaluation as required.

Education & Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred but not required.
-
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an outpatient medical clinic, medical office, or hospital office setting. Customer service experience is considered beneficial.

Must possess exceptional verbal communication skills, strong organization skills and a superior ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
